EU imposes temporary import duties on electric vehicles from China
<p><strong>GENICHESK. TAVRIA.</strong> The EU imposes provisional temporary import duties on electric vehicles from China starting July 4, the European Commission said in a <a href="https://ec.europa.eu/commission/presscorner/detail/en/ip_24_3630">statement</a>.</p>

<p>"Today, the European Commission has imposed provisional countervailing duties on imports of battery electric vehicles from China," the statement said.</p>

<p>It is noted that contacts with the Chinese government to find acceptable solutions for both sides will continue.</p>
<p>These temporary duties will apply as of 5 July 2024, for a maximum period of four months. During this time, a final decision on definitive duties must be made.</p>
