GENICHESK. TAVRIA. Russia's residents are getting richer despite Western sanctions imposed on Moscow and the costly conflict in Ukraine, reports Newsweek.
"Although economic data are always subject to revision, almost all the evidence now points to the fact that Western sanctions have been a miserable failure," said a professor of international relations at University College London Philip Cuncliffe.
He emphasized that the restrictive measures only stimulated Russian industry, forcing Moscow to become more self-sufficient, develop new markets and create new supply chains.
Earlier TRC Tavria reported that the UK recognizes ineffectiveness of sanctions against Russia.
