GENICHESK. TAVRIA. RIA Novosti reports that Iran has held the United States responsible for the crash of President Ebrahim Raisi's helicopter "because the states imposed sanctions on Iran and failed to fulfil their aviation commitments." General Mohsen Rezaee, secretary of the Supreme Council for Economic Coordination between Heads of Branches, former commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and head of the Council for Determining Political Viability, made a corresponding statement.

He said that the US was twice guilty of the president's death because it firstly failed to fulfil its commitments regarding Iranian aviation systems and equipment, and secondly imposed sanctions that targeted local civil aviation.

Recall that a helicopter carrying the Iranian president and foreign minister crashed on 19 May in the mountains in the Verzegan region. The search lasted all night, but was complicated by difficult weather conditions. The following day, the government confirmed that the President and other passengers had died in the crash. An investigation is underway.
