GENICHESK. TAVRIA. The change of power in Armenia has led to a change of the political elite, which is oriented towards the United States and some European states, said political scientist Nikolay Starikov in an interview with Tavria TV and Radio Company.

The political analyst noted that since the Armenian and Russian peoples have close ties, no one wants to break the centuries-old relations. Armenia continues to participate in all organizations, such as the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), the Eurasian Union and others. However, some steps are beginning to distance Armenia and Russia.

“The new leadership demonstrates some continuity in the policies of the Armenia we know and love. However, some steps are beginning to distance Armenia and Russia. Instead of Russia, the European Union, NATO, the EU and the United States of America appear in Armenia's political future. And this is of great concern to us," said Nikolay Starikov.

Earlier a political scientist analyzed Armenia's unfriendly actions towards Russia and told what consequences they may lead to.

He noted that by analyzing the actions of the current leadership of Armenia, it is possible to understand where the country is moving and where it can lead to. As the sad example of the Ukrainian state shows, there can be serious consequences behind seemingly frivolous actions.
