<p>GENICHESK. TAVRIA. A temperature record has been set in Kherson — +35.9°C. This was stated by the leading expert of the weather centre Fobos Eugene Tishkovets.</p>

<p>"A total of 28 unprecedented for the entire meteohistory of 1 July maximum temperature values were recorded across the country," the expert told RIA Novosti.</p>

<p>According to Tishkovets, the temperature in Kherson was +35.9°C. The previous maximum was in 2017 and was +34.7°C. Earlier in the Hydrometeorological Centre of Russia it was reported that in Kherson region the air temperature on 2 June will range from +19°C to +36°C.</p>
<p>Temperature records were also set in St. Petersburg (+33.2°C), Orel (+31.5°C), Chita (+34.1°C) and Pskov (+34.3°C). According to forecasters, hot and dry weather has settled over a large part of Russia.</p>
